MUAY THAI

Thai boxing is the national sport of Thailand and is widely regarded as the most practical stand up martial art in the world. It uses not just kicks and punches but also knees and elbows as striking weapons together with the standing grappling of the clinch, to create devastating fighters. As part of the Jakapong camp, the instructor Jonny Boon, can also introduce you to the more traditional aspects of the ancient art of Muay Thai. Because of the cardio vascular aspect of Muay Thai training it also an excellent way of keeping/getting fit, losing weight, toning up and increasing flexibility. Aside from the physical benefits of Thai boxing, it can also increase your concentration levels and does have a dramatic effect on your self-confidence and self-discipline. All in all, a couple of hours a week spent doing Thai Boxing will reap excellent benefits for all. All levels are welcome, men and women. From absolute beginners to advanced there’s no need to worry about your current fitness level, we can adapt the training to meet your needs. No membership required.

Jonny Boon

Jonny Boon has been training in Muay Thai since the age of five and has been teaching Muay Thai for almost ten years.

Johnny’s father, Master Boon, was instrumental in bringing Muay Thai to Britain for the first time. A former close-quarter combat trainer of the Thai Army, Master Boon taught Johnny and many others at his nationally renowned Jackapong training camp.
